Darllen y Beibl
Mae darllen y Beibl yn helpu i ddatblygu ein perthynas â Duw. Nid yn unig mae’n gasgliad anhygoel ac ysbrydoledig o lyfrau, ond gall Duw siarad â ni’n bersonol a’n hannog drwy ei eiriau.
Os nad ydych chi’n gyfarwydd â'r Beibl, beth am ddechrau gydag un o'r Efengylau (Mathew, Marc, Luc, neu Ioan) a geir ar ddechrau'r Testament Newydd. Mae’r pedwar llyfr hyn yn adrodd hanes bywyd, marwolaeth ac atgyfodiad Iesu.
Weithiau gall fod yn anodd deall y Beibl. Mae digon o lyfrau, gwefannau ac apiau sy’n gallu eich helpu i’w ddarllen a’i ddeall yn well. Gall y ddolen isod fod yn lle defnyddiol i ddechrau:
Fodd bynnag, cofiwch, pan fyddwch chi’n ymuno ag eglwys, mae gennych chi deulu newydd, a bydd pawb yno i’ch helpu ar y daith hon, boed hynny ar gyfer cyngor neu ar gyfer grŵp astudio’r Beibl
Pa fersiwn o'r Beibl ddylwn i ei ddefnyddio?
Nid yw’r cyngor ar ba fersiwn o’r Beibl i’w ddewis yr hyn y byddech chi'n ei ddisgwyl, nid oes ymgais i ddeddfu, dim ond anogaeth i’r cyfeiriad ‘cywir’. Dyma restr o’r fersiynau a argymhellir.
Ar gyfer Beiblau a gyhoeddwyd yn Gymraeg
Mwy nag un cyfieithiad?
Dylid ystyried bod cael sawl cyfieithiad yn fantais wrth ddarllen y Beibl, gan ei fod yn eich galluogi i weithio drwy'r darnau anodd hynny, gan wybod os oes mân wahaniaethau yn y cyfieithiad, yn enwedig gyda rhai o'r cymwysiadau rhad ac am ddim, y gellir eu dangos ochr yn ochr.
Read the Bible
Reading the Bible helps grow our relationship with God. Not only is it an amazing and inspiring collection of books, but God can speak to us personally and encourage us through its words.
If you’re not used to the Bible, why not start with one of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John) that are found at the beginning of the New Testament. These four books tell the story of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.
The Bible can sometimes be difficult to understand. There are plenty of books, websites and apps which can help you read and understand it better. The link below may be a helpful place to start:
However, don’t forget that when you join a church, you have a new family, and all will be there to help you on this journey, whether its for advice or for a bible study group.
Which bible version should I use?
The advice on what Bible version to choose is not what you might expect, there is no attempt to lay down the law, but more of a simple nudge in the 'right' direction, this is the list of recommended versions.
• The Authorized Version or King James Bible (AV), published in 1611, of which a Revised Version was published in 1881-5. It is written in traditional language.
• The New International Version (NIV), copyrighted 1973-1984 by the International Bible Society, written in modern language.
• The New Jerusalem Bible (NJB), published in 1985 - a revision of the Jerusalem Bible (JB), originally published in 1966, which was based on the Bible de Jérusalem (1956), most often used in the Catholic Church.
• The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV), an inclusivized revision of the RSV, published in an anglicized version in 1989 and is considered the authorised version by most Anglican churches, including the Church in Wales.
• The English Standard Version (ESV), published in 2002 and based on the RSV, with priority given, in the area of gender language, to rendering literally what is in the original
• The Good News Translation (GNT), published in 1976 as a common language bible. It is a clear and simple modern translation and is used by many churches.
For bibles published in Welsh
• William Morgan Bible Published 1588 (revised 1620), this translation was the first standard version of written Welsh and was the only Welsh Bible until 1988. This was the version that Mary Jones walked to Bala to buy.
• Cymraeg Newydd First published in 1988 and revised in 2004, this is the standard modern Welsh translation for speakers and learners alike, used in churches, chapels and schools.
• Beibl.net The latest Welsh translation of the Bible, using simple everyday language (2015, revised 2021) and especially accessible for learners.
Multiple translations ?
Having multiple translations should be seen as an advantage when reading the bible, as it allows you work through those difficult passages, knowing if there are any subtleties in the translation, especially with some of the free applications that can show them side by side.
